Storage

aspha-min® is easy to store:

  • Between -15 und 70 °C no changes to the product will occur.
  • Do store aspha-min® in a dry and possibly closed surrounding.
  • While processing and temporarily storing aspha-min® at the plant itself, do also avoid heat impact of more than 70 °C as well as humidity.

Feeding

In-plant handling of aspha-min® is easy:

  • Pneumatic feeding as well as screw or plate conveyors are capable to feed aspha-min® all the same.
  • With pneumatic systems, do check leak tightness in order to prevent loss of material.
  • While feeding aspha-min® - again - do prevent both heat impact (> 70 °C) and humidity.
  • If applicable, do check if sensors as are in use at the plant need to be adjusted to the fine grain size of aspha-min®.

For an in-depth look at existing (and working...) feeding and dosing devices, we gladly get you connected to other clients as a possible reference. Furthermore, we are happy to provide you with a sample in order to check compatibility of your own systems.

Alternatively, we offer meltable bags of 3 kg each to allow manual feeding.

Dosage

Regarding dosage, in order to allow the best possible performance of aspha-min® timing and quantity are crucial:

  • A dosage of 2 kg (0,2%) with base course mix design respectively 3 kg (0,3%) with binder and wearing course per 1000 kg of mix is recommended. The recommended quantity is calculated on roundabout 5% of the binder volume.
  • For technical reasons, pre-blending with bitumen is impractical
  • aspha-min® is to be introduced directly into the mixer.
  • Dosage is recommended simultaneously with the bitumen.
  • Do prevent any dry mixing time with aspha-min®!
  • In case, simultaneously dosing with the bitumen is technically impractical, aspha-min® may be introduced later. In the case, please then add your standard wet mixing time.

Please not, that - regardless of the technology in use - with any warm mix production, the exhaust temperature of the plant must not drop below the dew point. Otherwise, sulfur precipitation as well as humidity in your filter system may cause damage to your plant. Relevant plant manufacturers may support you in this matter.
